Palu, (PR-IAIN Palu) - Palu State Islamic Institute, Central Sulawesi, maximizes preparations for the 18th Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS) 2018.
IAIN Rector Palu Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi M.Pd at the AICIS committee coordination meeting on Tuesday said the committee should focus and seriously strengthen the preparation of the international and national event.
"There are several things that need to be considered to maximize the performance of the committee in order to succeed AICIS, one of which is the composition of the committee structure," he said.
The 18th AICIS is planned to take place from 17-21 September 2018 in Palu. IAIN Palu as host, together with the Ministry of Religious Affairs plans to present President Joko Widodo to open the event.
Therefore, Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi will take a policy of updating the composition of the local committee ahead of the 18th AICIS.
Renewal of the composition of the committee is deemed necessary, with some reasons one of which is the Chairman of the 18th AICIS Committee Prof. Dr. H. Syahabuddin has been inaugurated by the Minister of Social Affairs as Minister Expert Staff at the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"We must work hard, work as efficiently as possible, because of the volume and number of workloads that must be prepared by the committee," he said.
Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Council of Ulema of Central Sulawesi emphasized to the committee to immediately prepare and establish the location of the AICIS opening arena.
Not only that, he also stressed to the committee, especially each person in charge of the field to immediately prepare a place for invited guests who estimated to reach about 500 people.
"The person responsible for picking up the guests should also take immediate steps to coordinate with the Sis Aljufri Pearl Airport about the technical pick up of guests," Prof. Sagaf.
He pointed out that all vehicles belonging to the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government and Palu City Government and IAIN Palu service vehicles will be mobilized to pick up guests.
"We have built coordination with Central Sulawesi Provincial Government and Palu City Government in order to succeed AICIS. The government will help provide vehicles and other purposes," he explained.
He continued, describing the fields including publication, consumption and others to immediately perform their duties and responsibilities for the smoothness and success of AICIS.
AICIS is a national and international scale activity in the Ministry of Religious Affairs involving all universities under the ministry.
