" Bidikmisi students must be an example of other students, not only in terms of academic achievement but also morals and manners," said Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd, in Palu, Sunday.
Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi said IAIN Palu is one of the state-owned universities that provide assistance to the community through bidikmisi program.
This program, he called, is a government program run by universities to help easing the burden of society, especially the middle to lower economy to get college education.
"This Bidikmisi is not an IAIN program, it is a government program, IAIN only runs it. The goal is to give people access to university education," he said.
This Education Management Expert mentions that education tuition assistance through bidikmisi program is to generalize the opportunity. Because all people have the right to study in college.
Therefore, students who receive educational tuition assistance through bidikmisi must take advantage of the opportunity well, so that they can complete the study of strata one.
"Students who get bidikmisi is lucky because many students who have not get a chance," said Sagaf.
He expressed bidikmisi is a government commitment to help the less fortunate, but has the academic ability to develop so the students given space with the help of educational expenses, including consumptive costs also borne by the program.
He stated that the IAIN Palu leader continues to work on establishing communication with the central government so that the number of students receiving bidikmisi may increase.
He further explained IAIN Palu provides various training models for skills improvement for students receiving bidikmisi, ranging from foreign language skills (English and Arabic) reading yellow books, writing scientific papers and so on.
"IAIN's chairman commits that the students who receive bidikmisi can show their advantages with non-bidikmisi so that continuously given the strengthening of competence in the form of technical guidance, papers writing and mastery of foreign languages.
