Palu, 28/3 (IAIN PR) - Rector of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Palu, Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi M.Pd stated that the awardees of Central Sulawesi's education tuition fees should be role models of academic achievement.

"Yes, students who receive educational assistance is expected to be a role model for academic achievement," said Prof. Sagaf S Pettalongi, at IAIN Palu, Wednesday 28/3.

Bank Indonesia representatives from Central Sulawesi and IAIN Palu have agreed to cooperate in scholarship in 2018. The agreement was followed up by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the parties, which took place at IAIN Palu Auditorium on Wednesday.

Said Sagaf Pettalongi the BI scholarship recipient must maintain academic achievement. The GPA value of each semester should not fall from 3.00.

Because, he said, the assistance provided by Bank Indonesia aimed to help middle-class university students to finish their first-grade education.

By him, the assistance provided should be utilized for the benefit of one starata education, not for other purposes beyond education

"This is not a simple thing, I think, while learning can be money every month. This opportunity is not everyone can get, because it takes advantage of the opportunity," said Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi.

This Education Management Expert argues that cooperation between Bank Indonesia and IAIN Palu brings benefits to both institutions. He acknowledged the assistance provided by Bank Indonesia each year has increased both in terms of number of beneficiaries and nominal assistance.

"The scholarships provided by BI to universities including IAIN Palu, alhamdulillah always increase, we hope next year will also increase," Prof. said. Sagaf Pettalongi.

He proudly acknowledged that Bank Indonesia has realized its commitment to participate in helping middle and lower economic communities related to the reduction of tuition fees.

Bank Indonesia Central Sulawesi Representative provides scholarships to middle and low-income students amounting to Rp.600 million for 2018, which is intended for students at the Faculty of Ushuluddin Adab and Da'wah and the Islamic Economics Faculty of IAIN Palu, a total quota of 50 people.
