VICE RECTOR: IAIN MAXIMIZES MANAGEMENT PRIORITIZING OUTPUT QUALITY

Palu, Vice Rector for Public Administration, Planning and Finance of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palu, Central Sulawesi, Dr Kamaruddin stated that the institute seeks to maximize the management that prioritizes the quality of undergraduate or output .

"A management model that prioritizes output quality rather than inputs," said Dr Kamaruddin when delivering the report at the opening of IAIN Palu working meeting, at Mercure Hotel Palu on Thursday.

Kamaruddin said that IAIN Palu as one of the Islamic religious colleges of the country can no longer rely on input quality.

However, he said, the quality of input does not mean underestimated or abandoned. But it is minimized slowly, as management efforts to improve the quality of output.

He describes the current model of university management developed by the government is performance-based management.

"This management demands creativity and innovation, so all the routines that are often performed should be left slowly, along with the challenges faced," Kamaruddin said. Therefore, in the implementation effort there needs to be planning of ideas and followed by smart work.

He admitted that his party deliberately held an annual meeting of IAIN Palu in 2018 with the theme of work program synchronization for quality improvement that impact on competitiveness.

To implement the theme, he said, it takes a brilliant idea followed by hard and smart work by all academic community in an effort to improve the quality for competitiveness.

"We present seven resource persons in this working meeting, namely IAIN Palu Rector, Vice Rectors, Head of AUAK Bureau, Head of Sub-division and Student Affairs, and Head of Planning Division of PTKIN Directorate of Islamic Education," he explained.

Meanwhile, IAIN Rector Palu Prof Dr Sagaf S Pettalongi MPd said the quality improvement that impacts on the improvement of competitiveness is intended to increase and advance IAIN Palu.

He hopes all the academic community members who are directly involved in the work meeting, to pour smart ideas so that the working meeting produce a solution to the problems faced by every faculty, unit and institution in IAIN Palu.

"There may be problems in each faculty that has not been resolved, so this institute meeting is expected to be coordinated so that the solution can be applied to the work program in 2019," he explained.
